Emergency Service Pharmacies in the Area Villach Land
You’re away on holiday and have run out of your medicines?
In Austria medication and certain health products are only for sale in pharmacies. Pharmacies are usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Only a limited number of pharmacies are on duty during the weekends, holidays and at night for urgent medication.
A weekly list of pharmacists that are on night and weekend duty is posted under the section ‘Bereitschaftsdienst’ (Emergency Service).
Concerning prescription only medicines require a Rezept (prescription) from a doctor. If you don’t have a prescription with you, you may be able to get an emergency supply without a prescription from a pharmacy. Take along your medicine’s packaging with you, if you have kept it.
